Despite going through a particularly challenging year within our company, our staff sought out meaningful ways to give back and make a difference in our community this holiday season. For the eighth year in a row, Healing Care proudly partnered with Families Uniting Families for their annual gift drive. The drive enabled us once again to provide toys and other wish-list items to children in foster care, bringing hope and happiness to some of those who need it most.

As Continuous Care Manager, Gilbert Tanap, LVN, stated, “I’m glad I was able to bless a child, to make them happy, and let them know that they’re loved.”

As a mother who finds happiness in gifting my own daughter, especially during this time of year, it fills me with joy to participate in a drive like this and be the reason that another child smiles.

Founded in 2004 in Long Beach, California, Families Uniting Families trains individuals and families to become foster parents, offering mentorship and positive parenting techniques on how to care for children who have faced tremendous challenges.

Both Healing Care and Families Uniting Families share a mission of compassion, navigating complex emotions such as grief and love, and supporting families through difficult transitions. This collaboration allows Healing Care to extend our reach, providing care and support not only to patients but also to children in need. The partnership between the two organizations is a meaningful match, and the staff is honored to contribute to this important cause.

“I love participating in this gift drive every year,” shared Payroll Specialist, Bhavin Modi, “Children are the most deserving, and I’m fortunate to be a part of this small contribution to brightening a child’s day.”

Bookkeeper, Hector Briones, reflected, “Every year around the holidays, I like to give back in some way to someone less fortunate than myself for the blessings that I have received this year.”

To which, HR Credentialing Specialist, Laura Aguilar, added, “It’s really fulfilling to able to do something like this for the kids. It’s a blessing to give to others.”

As December wraps us in its festive embrace, this season of giving offers us all a chance to pause and reflect that the simple act of giving can create a ripple effect of hope and joy. We are reminded that it is not just the gifts that we give, but the love and care behind them that truly make a difference.

The Healing Care and Families Uniting Families partnership exemplifies the power of compassion, especially during the holidays. Together, we are making a lasting impact on children’s lives, offering them a sense of belonging and hope for a brighter future. As we move through this season of giving, let us continue to embrace kindness, generosity, and the opportunity to bring light into the lives of others.
