Passion Driven Employee: Miguel Rivera

Healing Care Hospice would like to acknowledge Miguel Rivera as this month’s Passion Driven Employee for his incredible and consistent efforts as a spiritual counselor.

Miguel is currently the most achieved spiritual counselor/chaplain in our company. In 2016 he earned his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and has four years of experience as a pastor. Additionally, Miguel is a member of the Spiritual Care Association.

One thing that many people do not know about chaplains working in the medical field is that they are oftentimes required to complete at least one unit in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). This particular course requires participants to spend 40 hours per week in a hospital setting providing spiritual assistance to patients. Miguel has completed four units of CPE and is currently in the process of becoming a board-certified professional chaplain. This is one of the highest accomplishments any pastor, clergymen or spiritual counselor can achieve.
